Commodity associations

Primary Producers SA’s membership is comprised of five South Australian commodity associations. Each commodity associations is an autonomous organisation, with its own governing body and making decisions about the commodity it represents. The commodity associations meet quarterly to discuss issues affecting all commodities.

Each association differs in its membership structure. Advocacy is funded through a levy on production for Grain Producers SA, Livestock SA and Wine Grape Council of SA. Producers are automatically members and only need to fill out a membership form.

Dairyfarmers can join the SA Dairyfarmers’ Association, which is funded by membership fees.

The Horticulture Coalition of SA is comprised of 13 organisations, all of which are supported by membership fees.

If a grower produces more than one commodity, they can be members of more than one organisation.
